Nokians have Eco-Studs that dont chew up
I braved the season withToyo T1-S
I bought a CPO 1999 540iA Sport in 2003. This was my first season back in a powerful RWD car after having driven SHOs for the past 10 years. I have 235/45/17s on the front and 255/40-17s on the rear. There were only a couple of snowy days that required "driving skills", the rest of the time the 540IA Sport was fantastic. I drive an average of 800 miles or more a week. I foound the car to be easy to control, in fact fun, on all the snowy days except one where there were too many cars around me piling into one another! I was a little nervous about being rear ended and not be able to make an emergency turn to avoid that out of control driver.
But, the point is, I don't rely on technology (DSC) or equipment (snow tires) to keep me safe, I practice my skills.
VT & ME can use studded year round
Some girls can drive BMWs very well, Sabine for
instance will make you eat your words.
nh when can i ut my studded snow tires on?
Toyo snows, 225/50-17 on cheap rims
Total package for my 03M3 was under $1200 including tax. Can't beat that. Great tires when the temperature drops below 40 (when my Pilot Sport 2s get hard and loose grip). Put the wear-and-tear on the winter package and save the oem wheels and PS2s for summer.
Re: Do most NE residents get snow tires?
It's snowing out today. I just dug out my Michelin Alpin snows mounted on EOM basket weaves. I'll be putting them on today.
Not true, studded tires on Oct., off April or May
I've forgotten the off date as my Z3 gets put away for the winter and my winter car (4 wheel drive ) uses all season tires.
Most smart ones do, but on the norm now NO
