i have a 1988 325ix. first, can you turbocharge this car? if you can, how much am i looking at cost wise$$$. and how much performance gain will i make. i'm only 16 so i won't be doing this for maybe another year, i'm just doing research ahead of time. i want to put it all in myself. thanks
It is not known for it's strength or durability. I wouldn't recommend adding huge torque (=turbo). Or go very mildly low pressure with a T2. Did you go chip-tune your car yet? I'd try that for a little gain without risking the box-failure.

is there any way to strengthin the gearbox???
try the board on http://www.bmwe30.net. They know a lot more te*****al bits than the folks I met here on roadfly's e30 board.
