I believe BMW planned to release the car as an 06' model but changed it to 05'. I can't wait. Hopefully the car will retain its BMWness.<img src="http://mysite.verizon.net/vze28g3k/330I/sig.jpg">

Looks like the 1 Series is coded, "E81". ;-)
PS. Who did atyclb get this graphic from?
...via email about both the 1 series and 3 series E#s. Apparently depending on body style, the 1 series can be E81, E82, or E87. The new 3 series can be E90, E91, E92, or E93.
That image was posted on bff. I don't go there so I don't know who originally posted it or where it came from! I just say aty post it on the E46 M3 forum here.

They are pretty much all out in 2005, so I think May 2005 is too far out. I'm betting February for first production orders.
I just hope the e90 makes me want to trade my e46 to an e90, just like I couldnt wait to trade my e36 for an e46. IMHO, I think alot people have been disappointed with BMW's newer designs along with me. I owned a Z4 for 9 months, luckily traded right before the rebates so I didnt do so bad, other than that Ive owned 6 other 3-series, my family really liked the Z4, my wife still says thats the best car youve owned and didnt want me to trade it (traded to an 04 330cic, silver gray), so its appealing to alot of people. When I owned the Z4, I was amazed at how many compliments I received about the car, but I just wasnt happy with the design so in the end so I traded it, I wasnt happy with the overall package.
The bottom line is the e46 will be a hard car to beat, but I hope they do it, I want to look forward to the next model, if all goes well, Ill get one.
This production table is so wrong its funny. There will be NO, NADA, ZIP ZILCH, E90s built in the year 2004. The problem comes dow to simple capacity. Where are they going to build the extra cars at? There is already not enough room to build the e83 (X3), so where are they going to build the extra few thousand e90's fro no reason whatsoever? Wait untill 2005 and the we will see.
I am new to this forum. I changed the oil to my 325i 1994 but don't know how to reset the service switch. Any help please.
That's an E36; you need to post your question on the E36 forum, not here. The E90 is two models newer than your car.
