question regarding memory

Yes, I have RTFM. Several times. (it is quite well written I might add). I just got an X5 and have some learning and searching to do. I did not find this question already asked so here it goes:

My question is regarding AC. Everytime I start my X5 the AC comes on. I have turned it off, then turned off the car. No luck. I have turned it off and tried memory buttons, no luck.

How can I stop the AC from coming on automatically every time I start my X5? I have stored this memory setting somehow, and cannot seem to erase it.
