    4to5 trannsmision conversion

    Hi, would like to convert to 5 grade transmission, does anyone know which one will fit with my M06 (2500cm) engine? I know I will have to shorten the kardan-shaft but thats not real problem. I quess tranny from M50 engine wont fit, would it? Thanx for help...E9 2500CS

    Your engine is an M30. You want a Getrag 265/5. The most common source is e12 5 series cars from 1977-1981. You can also find this transmission in the e30 M3. You will need the bell housing, slave cylinder, release arm and bearing from the e12, and the transmission mount cross member. You can use the driveshaft (kardan shaft) from an e9 with an automatic transmission.
