Re: experiences with La Jolla Independent BMW??
If you have an old Beemer...La Jolla Independent is the place to go. I owned a 1970 2002 for about 10 years and they have, or can get, anything for old Beemers. They do excellent work and know all the do's/don'ts when considering performance upgrades. Spend a little and they'll help you keep it running...spend a lot and you can build your own little hotrod.
Tony Kraus also works independently of La Jolla Independent (on site). Tony does excellent work on BMW's, Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari, etc.

Independent BMW La Jolla
I used to use Carl until I realized that his pricing on parts have a higher markup than other shops such as BMW Service Specialist. His Yelp rating says it all 3.5 stars http://www.yelp.com/biz/la-jolla-ind...ce-san-diego-2
