Man what is going on, our boys can't keep the pace

They say it's because they're using too much downforce and the car appears to be very stiffly sprung. What do you think?Steven

I think its time to sit back and wait for the glory of next year .

BMW have never been happy with Williams and today really showed why and to say they dont " have enough power " is laughable . I just dont see the team with much desire to win really , no " killer instinct " as it were as Mclaren seem to have .

Better question , who will drive for BMW next year ? Quick Nick ?

. . . doesn't seem to have the power advantage it once did. Williams used to be able to run lots of downforce and still maintain competitive top speed. Now they can't.

This would explain the weak showings at Canada and US (qualifying), but I'm frankly at a loss for France.

In 2001 through 2003, BAR, and Toyota were nowhere. Renault was nowhere until 2003. McLaren had average to poor years up until this one. Now all these teams are very serious competition and Williams hasn't kept up.

To me, the team never truly had a good grasp of all the basic workings of the car, aero, engine, brakes, suspension, and tires. Thus it almost seems like each race w/e is a roll of the dice, and the team is probably just as puzzled about Monaco & Nurburgring as it is France.

F1 racing magazine did a great article on Renault “Ferrari Eater”(May or June issue), and one thing that BMW.Williams needs is Engine and chassis integration (Which effectively takes majority of guess work out from one race setup to the next), going with the factory works team will no doubt help. It will take some times before we’ll see actual results. It took Toyota 3 ½ yrs to do it, but with numerous yrs in f1 and a working chassis BMW is expected to do it in far less time.

The key for BMWf1 team to become a success lies in the hand of the new technical director. Frankly I think BMW should just flat out buy Mike Gascoyne and allow him to work his magic as he did with Toyota. Nick is a shoe-in for the lead driver, formula BMW is rich in young talent, shouldn’t have a problem attract/develop the next Kimi.

No desire to win? Before Ferrari took 5 in a row they were the most winning constructor in F1 history. Believe me, unless you have an iron will you're not going to be one of the best racing teams in history.

And yeah, the BMW power plant is obviously nothing special this year.

Id like to see Heidfeld and Albers. Albers is doing as well as can be expected in that pig of a Minardi.
