Recommendation for good BMW repair shop
We have a 325i and the side window motor has been causing some trouble. The dealership said it was the Window regulator, and that it would cost about $450 (mainly labor costs). Seems a little high for this - any recommendations of some good shops that might be able to fix this for less?
Thanks!

Try Western Engineering in Elk Grove
I haven't used him for that problem, but I know he's very familiar with it.

Hey Viv!!!
So, from your posts I gather you've been over to see Ted. Hope he lived up to the expectations I set. If not, let me know and I'll go over and let him know!
Cheers!

Hey! Where have you been?
Yes, I took my car there and told Ted that since you trusted your car with him he must be good ;-) I just wish he wasn't so far away! I'm putting together a drive on 9/24 to Volcano/St. George Hotel. Interested?

San Rafael - Joszef's European Garage,
1249 E. Francisco Blvd, San Rafael, (415) 482-6000. Owner is a former BMW racer from europe, Joszef Varga. Its kind of a hole in the wall place (kinda the opposite of the dealership repairshop with fresh coffee and bagels) but he does all my major work at 1/2 to 1/4 the cost, no screwing around.
Good luck-

Re: Recommendation for good BMW repair shop
Assuming that you are in the Sf bay area, you may consider Fremont Foreign Auto - they specialize in fixing european cars. You will get a clear picture of the problem and a realistic solution. Ask for [email protected] 510 793 6067
I took my car, a 740il to a dealer for an estimate and they suggested that i replace the engine! Eduardo was able to fix problem under $200.
