Is daytime running lights a DIY?

I bought an E38 (1997 740iL)from the US a while back. Canadian regulations requires daytime running lights on my car before it be insured. Is modifying my car to have daytime running lights a DIY?

If so, can anyone tell me how this is done?
    Thanks.

    Mario.

Find a headlightts electric diagram because all 1997 are DRL and need an electric diagram to follow the connections... car is simply hook-up to wires.

click search link and type in "car key memory"....

or go to www.e38.org and find the link and download the PDF for the car/key memory...this will allow you to see all of the options you have available. There may be some things you want to turn off or on...since you're gonna have to turn on the DRLs...you might as well have everything done that you want.

Go see the dealer or a qualified ind., they can ..

turn that option on. No assembly required. Will probably cost you an hours rate, or not. But it does have to be done with a proper coding and programming device such as the GT-1 or Autologic. Trent Cole, Tech Advisor, Lone Star Chapter, BMW CCA
