Once again the board goes silent...

I can hear the fans on my computer whirring about, but that's it...
Shiet, n/m, people 3 floors down can hear these damn fans!
What's going on Kev / Viv / Shrky?
    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Sadly, summer is winding down to an end for me.

    I've been on vacation ;-)

Had a wonderful time in the South Lake Tahoe Keys. The guys did some fishing and the rest of us swam, boated, rode bikes and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Hated to come home to the 103 degree temps.

Hahaha, I've been avoiding the area like the plagu

Hmmmmmm temps in the 70s versus temps in the 90s-100s? Bay area wins :)
No golf up there after I almost passed out playing Plumas Lake, and yes I had a LOT of water. Actually guzzled down 1.5 liters in an hour and a half. We made a deal to only play in the east or north bay from now until it cools down up north.
Sounds like you had a great time up there!
Maybe Kev fell asleep on the toilet or something, he didn't go to Hawaii again did he?
Back to work for me ;[

Did I tell you about my car?

Don't think I mentioned the accident in the NorCal board. Well..... on 7/20 my son was driving, we were stopped in traffic and some young gal rear ended us. She wasn't paying attention and didn't even hit her brakes b/4 hitting us. As of Monday estimated damage was $9,300. It's been in the shop almost 2 weeks now, and will be there another 2 weeks ;-( I sure hope it drives OK. Lease is up on March so I can always let it go back if I don't like the way it drives.

Here are a few pictures in the link, but what you can't see is the damage to the spare tire well, etc. The rear quarter panel had to be replaced. My poor baby ;****-(

    OMG No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good to hear everyone's ok though!! I SERIOUSLY hope she wasn't doing her makeup in the rearview mirror as my sister USED to do, until I went off on her. Then a couple months ago some woman rear-ended HER while doing her makeup in the mirror, I think that incident is keeping her from EVER doing that garbage again.
Kids like that are keeping insurance premiums up for my age group damnit... Females are supposed to be the "safer" drivers too! Can't wait until I'm 25 and married. Anyway, I didn't know you baby was being leased! I guess that's a good thing from this point of view. But the girl WAS insured, correct? Remember several months ago the guy's daughter got in an accident with an uninsured motorist here in Berkeley? That was pretty damn bad...
Don't be too sad about your baby, as you and your real baby are ok! :)
    Mmmmmmm I need some coffee.
Time to clean up a bit and play some golf!
    Wheeeeeeeee!

Have a wondeful weekend all, except KEV for not replying muhahaha.

    Viv,
    Truly a day of sadness....
I do think that your son needs some $$$ from her and you do too. If BMW finds out that the car was wacked I am sure they will levy $$ on you for damage. Look in your agreement it may be there. Make sure that your son isn't having any minor problems with his neck or it will end up costing him in the long run.
    Where have I been Ian?
    Europe?
    Germany?
    Swiss alps?
    Hawaii?
21 day tuna fishing trip in Mexico?
Avoiding the 100+ heat in the bay area?
    All of the above?
European Delivery of a BMW 645ci (possibly but I will let you know in 3-4 weeks)
Or waking up at 4am coming home cooking and then going straight to bed.....
that BMW does sure drive nice... well worth the price of admission.

hmmmmmmm must be the hard working and high heat of the south bay. but here in the east bay? ooooh damn, it's oh soooooo sweet and cold and i love it.
my baby threw a fit tonight while leaving work... took an hour and 15 minutes of coaxing to get her to start up, hoping she won't give me trouble on my way to work in the morning.
645ci????? if you get that sucker, you're definitely letting me drive it ;]

Sorry to hear about your car troubles too. I had to smog my wifes car and it was rather difficult and expensive to do. Well at 257k what do you expect? Maybe she is getting a 645???
Don't think so. I wish I was though.
I am in Livermore spending your tax dollars in bulk. Google "NIF".

    I'm not tellling anyone.

Talked w/guy at the body shop and he thought I didn't need to notify BMWFS. The car will be better than new when they are finished with it.

    Re: I'm not tellling anyone.

I didn't mean to suggest telling them. It is when they give it the once over that they discover the telltale signs of bodywork and painting. Until you know what you are looking for you couldn't tell. You have to look at the rubber gaskets to see if paint is on them, matching areas for color ( if the bodyshop is any good this won't be a problem), adjacent areas which are not painted (doorjambs and undercarrige) for tape masking lines and general overspray in the wheelwells and where the spare tire would be.
Are you going to get another 5 or something else?

I hope to keep this car.

I'm expecting it to be just fine ;-) I don't know what I'd get if I had to buy another.

Re: I hope to keep this car.

If I could and did.... I think the M5 or 645 would be mine. It would also depend on what the insurance was on the M5.
Then again if I came across a E38 in the color of my choice, from a practical point of view that would be the cats meow. The 5 and 6 are kind of small cars.
If you haven't been watching the Discovery Channel at 10pm on Wednesdays then tape it. Top Gear is now on and I am enjoying it.
