    Lemon law settlement

Does any one out there know if it is true that once you get a settlement through a lawyer from a lemon law claim, does the settlement check have to go into the lawyers account for 10 days before it is issued to you?

    Thanks
    Mistie

sounds like he's waiting for the check to clear

He's probably just being cautious and waiting for the check to clear.

As an attorney in Broward County Florida, I can tell you it is accepted practice for your attorney to collect the check, deposit it into his Trust Account, and then issue a check in the same amount to you from his Trust Account. He's doing it for your protection.
