    Stay away from Xtec products

I purchased two HID Xtec ballasts one year ago. One failed within 3 month of purchase, second just failed now a year and three days after purchase. Xtec guys refused to honor warranty by unending 'talk to this guy' chain and eventually not responding to any further communications. Poor product, poor customer support stay away.

Re: Stay away from Xtec products

I am sorry you had a bad experience with an X-Tec product. We sell and support X-Tec Xenon/HID kits and are probably the largest distributor in the US. We have found them to be excellent products with few defects. When they do occur, we readily replace whatever needs replacing, free of charge.

We have carried other brands in the past and overall have found X-Tec to be very good compared to many OEM brands.

I am assuming that you did not buy your kit directly from us. However, if you need support, or technical help you can alsways contact us.

I still need replacment ballasts... what brand?

Xtec is out of the question, what brand should I use and where should I purchase it? On top of that I would like to upgrade my projectors (lens) from my current depo's halogen with something of higher quality.

    give us a call....

I need to get some information from you and I will def. see what I can do. If it's an authentic X-Tec product purchased from a X-Tec dealer then we shouldn't have any problems doing so.

Re: Stay away from Xtec products

I am sorry you are having a problem with your Xtec original dealer not helping you. This is far too common a story.....

I am certain that "the Xtec guys" would help you, because I am Jim Powell, the owner of Apexcone and XtecUSA.

You can call us directly at 1-866-XTECUSA or as Autowerks noted, you can call them too if you wish to deal with another retailer.

It is also disingenuous for another vendors emloyees to encourage harrassing other companies while initially denying the person with the problem help in the first place.

Xtec Products carry a LIFETIME warranty. No excuses. If you don't drill holes in it, hammer nails into it, dent it or break the bulbs, you have no problem with warranty.

XtecUSA has no problem with honoring factory warranties, they cost us NOTHING to support. The factory even picks up shipping.

I'll let the personal name calling from the peanut gallery go.

Easy there Joshy. We told the customer how...

to replace his ballast. We cannot support this product directly.

Please leave us completely out of it, we promised the customer to take care of his situation, if he would like a difference solution, I'm sure he can find it.******>

I'm no happy with umnitza, got no warranty from him

For the record, I was initially told by umnitza that product he sold me has warranty. I can dig out e-mails, I still have them. When I asked him to honor that warranty I was given E-MAIL of manufacturer and told that I'm on my own. He *charged* me to replace ballast and took UNREASONABLY LONG time to send it to me. So as a customer - umnitza did not honor his warranty in my case.

    new development

Josh from AutoWerks helped me and after sending my two busted ballasts I got two new X-tec ballasts that work. Well they work fine with one exception - they trip 'low beam' warning and old ones didn't.
