Does he want to be a lab rat?

    Like wifey?
Get the bachelors degree in biology something or other, intern for 18 months, take the CA. exam, talk to my wife and get paid 50-80k. Enough for him to live in California.
I think "LabGuy" on the 5 boards is or was a "clinical laboratory scientist" which is what the title is. If he is interested look at the website
    camlt
If he goes for a masters/PHD then $150k I think. The jobs are in demand and will continue to be for many years to come.

Well back in NorCal finally . . .

Europe is fun and all, but it's also great to be back home. Only saw a couple of 6ers, probably not all that popular anymore, thanks to very high fuel prices and small roads and parking spaces!

Ian, drop me a line directly some time, let me know where you are. I'm in the South bay, Sunnyvale.

    Cheers, Bob

Very smart! Why go out of state when California

schools are some of the best in the nation? =)
I mean, UC's have Davis, Irvine, Berkeley, San Diego, and LA in the top 50 in the nation! (At least when I was applying, which was 5 years ago....)
With Berkeley tying for #1 public school in the nation along with UVA.
Oregon?? Nah........ heh heh. But whatever he wants, right mom????

Where has work been taking you lately?
    Still at the Livermore labs?

    hahahahahaha!

    Ian,
Livermore??? nope I am "semi-retired" again and contemplating how to add on a laundry, bedroom, master suite, loft, dining room and expand the living room on our house. We are going to remodel so we have more room for all our kitties.
    Viv,
"What will you be doing w/an anthropology degree?", like Peter Gabriel sings.... "Digging in the dirt"....
Museum studies, investigating various sites for artifacts when digging up for new foundations for the city or county...taking government "dole".
Ian, why don't you study the Haida on Vancouver island and bring me back some argellite like this..

I have a bucket of clam fossils for you to start your career with.. oops, anthropology not archeology...oh well gave me a reason to type anyway. Those passes I have are 1 day campus passes maybe when you graduate I can give you one so you don't have to walk.

Yup, Ian's been pre-occupied with many distraction

    s... mainly school!
I'm in the east bay, but I get down to the south bay at least once a month.
I actually played golf at Blackberry a 2 fridays ago and played 18 at sunnyvale muni on saturday! lol
i saw an absolutely GORGEOUS e24 today while waiting for my last class to start...
I nearly melted on the sidewalk, he had some sexy BBS basketweaves on it.... (I don't know exactly which ones they were)
But I'll let you know next time I visit the south bay!
I'd love to see your baby, it's been a while but what happened with the LSD? Did you end up having it rebuilt?
2 beers down, 3 to go
It's been a long day, i got the sampler case of pyramid at costco so i'm going to kill one of each and a sierra nevada (blech, too pale for my taste).

Omg... No you did not just woot... ROFL

Damn, if my dad said woot i'd probably yell at him!
HAHAHA I'm dying right now... you're hilarious Kev.
So they were one day passes, damn...
The semester's almost halfway through, I guess I should just do what I'm doing now...
Park at 10:55, class from 11:10 (Berkeley time) till 12:30
I then run to my car to repark, eat lunch, repark at a lot that costs 6 bucks for the rest of the day
I'll be damned if I end up digging [Oops!] up for a living!
Only thing that matters to me is that my degree says UC BERKELEY on it...
My sister majored in poli sci and is working at evault.com now, she knew NOTHING about computers (and still knows nothing....?) and works for a tech company
But, in the end it's whatever pays the bills...
Maybe I will be digging.... hahaha.

Dang, you were close to me Ian!!! >>>

I live in Sunnyvale and Blackberry is not all that far away either. You will have to le me know the next time you are going to be in the area.

Here's a pic of the green shark at our last meet, in Las Vegas about 2+ weeks ago. I took second in our clean car contest in my class, the early (E12) chassis 6ers. Nice to be recognized by your piers :)

    Enjoy ;-]Cheers, Bob

    absolutely stunning!

Yeah, my friend lives around the corner from Apple campus and Blackberry!
We normally don't have time on the weekdays to play full 18, so we have to make do with Blackberry.
Good way to practice our short games and accuracy off the tee on the two par 4's.
    Damn she's a beauty :)
e12's in good condition are REALLY hard to see, I've only seen 3 e12's in Berkeley and 2 of them were really beaten up.
It's a shame as they look good too! The third was in pretty good condition though.
How many miles do you have on her?

    Thanks Ian!!! A labor of love . . .

The green beast turned 143k on the way home from Vegas, she has really lead quite an easy life of 25 years so far. Took her to work today, always a treat over my Dakota pickup :)

I'm not a golfer (yet anyway), but have heard that Blakckberry is a nice short course. Sunnyvale Muni is, well, there, and cheap if you're a resident. Someday...

Oh, and if you ever get a chance to have dinner at the restaurant at Blackberry, the Blue Dolphin, pretty good grinds! And the bar is a kick on Saturday nights, for the over 50 crowd. I wouldn't know about that :)

    Gonna try another pic...

And I think we need to start a new thread :-]

    Cheers, Bob
