Peake Research R5/SRS tool - UK compatible??

My airbag light came on again!!! However, as luck would have it, I discovered it was the wiring loom to the passenger seatpan switch. Got it repaired but I need to reset the system. Rather than take it to the dealer who wants to charge me an unbelivable amount of cash, I've considered buying the Peake Research R5/SRS reset tool. But the big question is will it work on a UK spec E39? Car is a '98 model, I6. Can anyone give me any advice here? Thanks in advance.

Ta for the info - but are you sure about the cost? The Euro Car Parts price on the internet is 86. Or am I looking at the wrong reset tool?

Re: Peake Research R5/SRS tool - UK compatible??

    Hi,

We are UK distributor of the Peake Research range of products, and I can confirm that all the products are compatible with the UK BMW range (excluding diesel cars for the FCX-II currently).

The difference between the airbag reset tools, and the SRS is that the SRS and SRS-16 diagnose the fault, don't just erase the light.. They come with a book of codes to tell you the nature of the fault.
