    CD stuck, will not

go to your dealer - it's covered - warranty repair

if you tamper or mess up the face of the player - you pay

    oops... message cut off

Our 7/04 build X3 has the same problem but the dealer is replacing the unit under warrantee. Had to argue a little since it decided to work again while on the dealer's lot....

Re: oops... message cut off - Stuck CD

Take a look at the attached link to free a stuck cd. Try this method first. If that doesn't work, there are other more radical methods, but, I'd check y9ou warranty, etc. first. Take it to the dealer to mess with if possible. You can also cycle the power to the player while holding down the eject button. Works some times.

Paper Clips Work for Computers, but not X-3

Let your dealer repair or replace under your warranty! Good Luck, Charlie

Believe me - I'm not messing w/ anything!

I was just hoping someone had found a magical way to cause the ejector to work. What is the problem with these things? It's obviously not too isolated a problem.

    ....well try this-

...TRY A HAIR DRYER - NICE WARM BREEZE DIRECTED AT THE SLOT AND
push the EJECT button a few more times. Warm it up good.

    Happy New Year

    It came out!!!!

I waited a while and went out to try it again. Turned the radio on, then the CD player - then hit the Eject Button....waited.....(whistling)....(a tumbleweed saunters across the path in front of me)...kept waiting...(made the Sign of the Cross)...and then, just as easily as it went in originally, the CD slipped out.

Mouth hanging open, I grabbed it and slapped that CD into its cover. I am wondering if it is the CD's fault - because this was a poor quality CD that I burned this afternoon. While playing, the quality was HORRIBLE....and I have no idea why. Anyway - after this one finally came out, I put in another (good) CD, it played beautifully, and then Ejected the first time I tried it.

Need help from BMW NA Rep

CD did not eject on two occasions, when I went to dealer, the CD ejected. Dealer stated, they have to verify and witness the problem. No witness, no fix. Now what?

    Works Every Time

Problem: Drive to dealer, explain that CD is stuck, dealer says you have to replace entire CD player for $1400.
1st argument: Argument from authority: Unholster Glock 17, point out that you are gun nut who walked right past "NO GUNS" sign at door.
2nd argument: Time-value argument: Point out that police are just minutes away, dealer can be dead in seconds if you become irrational.
3rd argument: Cost-benefit argument: 9mm bullets cost you $0.50 each, so you can cause dealer $100,000 in hospital bills for just $1.00. For $2.00-5.00 you can put dealer in morgue.
4th argument: Economics 101: Dealer already knows how to fix your Chomsky-sucking CD player for practically nothing, so if he or she does it, you'll give them a couple of Marx and a few Keynes as a tip. They'll live, and still make a profit.
5th argument: Farce majeure: Most people are too stupid to understand #1-#4, so you transfer 17 9mm bullets from your Glock into the dealer's body and take the dealer's car (which will always have a better CD player than yours) in exchange. God bless the free market.

If no warranty simply use needle nose pliar but must be fine tip. You scratch CD but much prefer to buy radio from dealer.
