Car rocking back and forth while braking..needhelp
Hey guys,
I've got 56k on my 330i--the rear brakes were replaced about 10k ago and the front brakes were recently replaced, like 2 weeks ago--rotors, pads and sensor--all BMW OEM. What happens is as I come to a complete stop, the car rocks back and forth before stopping completely. This was happening before the front brakes were replaced, and I figured that replacing them would solve the problem, but such is not the case.
You guys have any ideas?
Thanks.

Some movement on the bushings is normal
"Excessive movement" could indicate bust control arm bushings.
Are you using proper braking technique? By that, I mean backing off to near zero braking just as the car stops. If you brake medium hard and keep your foot in it till the car stops it will bounce back and forth on the bushings - all cars do that to some extent.

E39 Rocks back and Forth when comes to stop
The rocking back and forth feels like a minor fender bender. I think its the low control arm bushings those are going bad - They tends to open up with time, loosing the grips at the end joints of the arm and also makes the steering response latent to your control. They cost around $80 bucks a pair + plus labor.
