    Does anyone know of a non-BMW replacement battery for a 2001 740iL? BMW wants $220.00 for one.

    I bought a Duralast 49DL at Autozone for $65.99 in North Carolina last month. It has a 7 year warranty with the first 2 years full replacement and the nest 5 years pro-rated. It is a shorter battery. There is a threaded hole for the hold down bolt. Easy install. It comes with a vent tube kit.

    Interstate sells a "blemish" battery MTP-H9 for $45.99, plus tax.

    Blemish batteries have some sort of cosmetic flaw, so the batteries can not be sold "as-new".

    The warranty is only 6-months. However, the Interstate representative indicated ususally buyers get several years just like the same battery sold as new.
