well, you'd KNOW :)
the p500 mode is not noticeably different from p400, but p500sport responds quite differently. it tends to leap off the line (a bit abruptly even) and it doesn't take much throttle before you're revving pretty aggressively.
now i wonder if the dealers might be enabling p500s on demos to impress prospective customers? there's nothing inherently wrong with using that mode during break-in except that it's exceedingly easy to bust the 5500 rpm limit (and in fact rather difficult not to).
the way the mdrive works is that the m button selects whatever is programmed for the mmode. my car came with mmode programmed for p400 and no way to change it (i could see the menu but not access it), so while hitting the m button did light up the appropriate LED in the dash the car remained in p400 (it could be put into p500 by pushing the power button, but not into p500s).

You're obviously really obsessed with DP.
Why don't you just get it over with, and ask him out on a date?
Bottom line, DP's got the mojo here, amigo. That "look at me" site that you mention has been enjoyed by more people than you can imagine. It's actually pretty nice to have a guy this interested in cars, and doing pretty well for himself, to share the little slice of his life without being obnoxious. I've never met DP, but having read his posts (here and on his "look at me" site) for a few years now, I'd defend him against a poser like you in a New York minute.

Did I steal your thunder Keebler? Your analysis...
......is incorrect here, just like so many other forums you post and bloviate on. ;)
Explain to me how I'm now president? You obviously make so sense. Russkie logic I reckon. :D
You must NEVER tire of being smacked around like a red-headed stepchild. :P

Sounds like you're the one in "love" Hooplehead!
Ol' Keebler does have an entertaining Looky@Me site which is quite interesting.......which I've always given him credit for.
He's quite the little elitist however which is why it's fun to ring his bell from time to time. Single Malt just has the Red_*** currently because I upset the apple cart on his goofy plan to own an M5 for 6 weeks and then flip it. ;)
The VERY same plan two other Rednecks I know were attempting. Well......now that the bottom's falling out on this car, it's going to be rough.
Driven the Sled Pig myself and it's a fast car.
Maybe you can help your buddy out by buying a t-shirt from him? Lord knows he needs the cash. :)

Never claimed to own an M5. Most here do not Elf!
Curious about the car and was way back before you started blowing your little horn.......as usual. Hell, my secretary was about to roll on one.
Funny how you always want to feel so unique. ;)
My test drive in the Sled Pig was fun. Always nice to wring out a vehicle in the Hill Country. My compadre enjoyed Buzzy as we swapped cars for that run. :D
Loosen your bullets Pretentious One. Feel free to blow hard about another toy. Always makes for interesting reading with your added pompous slant.
How much you planning on losing when you sell her? :P
