NAV system will not work

Any ideas, anyone???

Just purchased a 98 750 and I can't get the NAV to work. TV works fine.

I have one CD (northeast US) and the manual is written in German.

When I try to turn it on, the first pop-up message says "please wait" followed by "no cd, please insert" along with an arrow pointing to the left (I think) and the message "return."

Meanwhile, the trunk unit is ejecting the CD. And by the way, which way should the CD be inserted? Label facing up or down? I've tried both ways to no avail.

You must have the mk1, or early mk2 system and the nav computer is toast, the ONLY option is to either get a another used mk1 or only use the TV module to drive the nav screen or upgrade to a newer nav computer mk3 or mk4.
