Frame design flaw and rampant damage!
See www.bmwz8.us for some late breaking info on an apparent design flaw with our frame. Apparently a sizeable number of cars already suffer from damage. The Z8 club in Europe is working with BMW for a potential preventative fix, and MacFly has setup a survey to assist in gathering data.

Interesting, however...
in a situation where BMW investigates whether this is a design flaw I would not use a third party solution.
Nothing against your strut braces, however, right now we need a supported solution from BMW, or otherwise they will refuse any responsibility for further damages in the future.

we're in total agreement, look to BMW first
However, if you don't already have the problem, perhaps the best action is to get it reinforced as a preventative measure. We're not engineers, but we fail to see what BMW can do to correct those cars already affected and to prevent it from happening to those currently unaffected. Sounds like a major flaw in the design. They might supply a BMW version of a strut brace but that won't repair those that are already tweaked, A sticky situation indeed and one we'll be watching together with you owners. We're wishing you the best in any case and we feel that BMW will stand behind their product one way or the other.
