How to check for brake fluid...
...in brake reservoir on a 2000 M5? The owners manuals says it's underneath driver side filter compartment but did not mention how to access to it. Also did check the archive with no results. TIA.

Re: How to check for brake fluid...
Remove the rubber gaskets around the top of the filter housing. Pull the air duct back that comes into the filter housing from the passenger side of the car. Remove the wire clip at the front of the housing that secures the front of the filter housing to the body of the car. Lift the front of the housing up rotating the front of the housing up and toward the back. The rear of the filter housing is secured by slots that engage slips. Swing the rear of the housing out of engagement with these clips. Once disengages swing the housing sideways and let it rest on the valve cover of the motor. With this accomplished the brake fluid reservoir is in plain site.
