    Frame distortion

I have a 2001 black/crema Z8 with 8000 miles that I own since new. I just checked the gaps in the hood of my car with a quarter per McFly's photos. The gaps on either side of the hood from the windshield to the head light are perfectly straight. When I do the same thing on the bottom of the hood where it meets the front bumper, the gap narrows under to the right of the left side head light, when I am facing the winshield. Again, this is the line that runs on top of the front bumper. I can move the quarter across the gap from right to left until I get to the right of the head light. Is this an example of possible fram distortion?

    Re: Frame distortion

I do not believe what you are describing is related to any form of frame distortion but rather the variations inherent in a hand assembled automobile. Getting the gaps "right" in the area you are checking is particularly difficult. If you scroll down a bit on this board you will find what I believe is a much better way to check your Z8 for possible distortion.Grease Monkey
