New From BMW.
Its hard to get them in the Yellow Zinc colour. Most come in the Silver Zinc. There is also a place called Wurtz here in Calif. The sell the yellow Zinc nuts and bolts.. Only draw back is you have to buy them in bulk. Usually 100 at a time. I got lucky I had a friend that was also restoring his M6 and we split the difference. I would say I purchased about 95% of the bolts from BMW and they came in the Yellow Zinc Colour. I just got lucky. More and more are coming in the Silver colour.

Re: there are still some places that will do it.
I live in Los Angeles..., Long Beach area. Where are the places you speak of that have the yellow metric hardware. I suppose they also have the 8.8 and 10.10 stuff.
Right now I'm buying bolt by bolt, washer by washer from the dealer. I like the guys at the parts counter and they give me great pricing but if I can save a few buck and don't have to drive all over the place I'm all for it.
GNC Supply on PCH in Wilmington also has a great supplu of hardware.
Philo.
