    530i mpg

    the wife wants a 5spd 530i to replace her auto-slush-box Saab turbo (thank goodness, at last).

    what is reasonable to expect for miles per gallon?

    the car has had the block replaced. I know to check for rust, suspension, every little thing....leaks..

    what else to look for on a 530i?

    I get 19.8 MPG in mixed driving, it gets 23-24mpg highway. Highway mileage falls off at 80mph because of the low rear gear ratio, (High numerically) and the car revs 3,300 at 80mph......could realy use that 6-spd.........very fun car, sounds great too.310,000 miles on my 89' 525!
