    Do a search on SMG in this forum and you will find quite a bit of pluses and minuses.

    I love my SMG, but its not an automatic and it works best when pushed hard. If you do a lot of city driving, get a Steptronic.

    Agreed. It is not an automatic therefore it is not smooth in shifting gears. (Jerky is how to best descibe it)

    I have SMG and for me I love it.

    Of course my next car will be something that can haul a motorized scooter/wheelchair -- and the next one will be pine with 6 peoplepower.psybj

    I found it to be jerky around town as well as feeling detached from the shifting process. I bought my 650 with a Manual Transmission..I would either go Manual or Steptronic and skip the SMG.
