M5 Virtual Driving School/Clutch
Just bought a 00 with 50k; Siver/Black loaded...
All the links are dead for the M5VDS; Anybody have the vids?
Q: Ive had the clutch slip a couple times; down shift and nail the throttle to pass, the tach goes clockwise faster than the car goes forward, typically its new clutch time. I've read here that the clutch is undersized, is this something I have to learn to deal with having almost 400 ft lb trying to pretzel the (stock)clutch plate?
I bought the thing from a dealer, have a 1 month 1k warranty plus I vought a 2yr extended...Should I persue this?
Thanks

Re: clutch
The stock clutch is too small. There are a number of after market 11 inch clutch kits out there. I put in a UUC. They take stock BMW V10 clutch parts and they have a flywheel made that mates up to the V8 crank. They get quite a bit for their kit and I heard that there are cheaper kits out there doing the same thing.

VICTORY!
After I had the car for TWO days, I complained to the dealer that the clutch was slipping; not horrible, but slipping if I dropped down on the freeway and nailed it to pass, merge etc.
Thier response: Oh no it was fine when we tested it! The nerve! Tell you what we'll split the cost, No you will reapir it FREE...Or my best friend the Attorney can come down and discuss the contract with you...Guess what, Shes in getting a new clutch...
