    I have been told that other e39 M5s are having the 'issue' that mine has.....for a while, at least, mine had needed oil added (about a quart)...seemed near every 1500 miles...and gentlemen, I do not drive this car hard...I was told by numerous service advisors that this car "burns oil", which seems shocking for a car at almost 80k $. Thoughts/opinions/stories?

    High compression engine = oil consumption....

    Quart every 1500 is on the high side, but not unheard of...

    My 2000 with 15k burns a quart every 2500...
