    New M5 owner w/ a couple questions :-)

Hi Everyone!. Just purchased a very clean 2000 M5, anthracite w/ blk/grey leather. Love the car but want to do a little preventative maint on the fluids. I was wondering what you all recommend for diff oil?? Also, should I change out the transmission oil as well? If so what do you also recommend? Thanks for any help :)

congrats. yes and yes, with OEM fluids

for me; I had mine done around 30-35k miles. You could try Royal Purple in the tranny, which may give you marginally easier shifting effort (if you have a short shift kit). But I have a s/s and OEM fluid and it's just fine. Some folks swear by Redline. Search the M5board.com ("lscman" + "redline") and you'll see some interesting views, pro and con, on that. Can't go wrong with fresh OEM fluid.
