No Start
OK, here's the deal: '88 M5 with 84,000 miles. For the fourth time in its life (first time was around 40,000) it ran fine when parked, but after sitting until cold when cranked it just spins over without a pop. The previous three times it went on a rollback to a different dealer each time. Each time it was fine when it came off the rollback. The problem has never been diagnosed. Any ideas, guys?

there are more scientific ways to trouble shoot
get a 12 v test light on the coil..see if it flashes when cranking. pull a plug wire and use a spare plug you have in the battery cover.. see if you have spark.
need to test for fuel somehow.. your nose may help... or see if you have power on the fuel pump connector under the access panel in the trunk.. all these things take a few mins to do .. as long as you are not late for a meeting..
put the tools in your trunk and be ready to test the most basics.. you need to find out if you have a fuel or spark problem.
