Still waiting on major updates on S38 rebuild. I the mean time I got bored. All I can say is I saw an M1 at the Frankfurt Auto show that had the same color valve cover..........the rest is history. I used VHT high Temp wrinkle paint, and hours and hours of prepping. After I shave the paint off the intake plenum, I will bake both pieces and clear coat with VHT high temp clear. The finish came out better than I expected.

I have seen this in pictures on S14s and it looks good there too.

Thanks, I was starting to regret doing it, but the finish came out nice, I just sprayed a clear coat on it today. Hopefully after the engine is back together it will all be worth the color change.

Finally clear coated the pieces. One thing I didn't like about wrinkle paint was it's dull finish. I also painted the exposed part of the velocity stacks (trumpets) gloss black. All baked and no turning back now. Still waiting for pics of engine tear down from my mechanic. stay tuned

I like it better than I thought I would, nice work. I like the dull finish rather than brighter
