    2000 M5 Stuck in 1st gear

I have a 2000 M5 that I bought with 45,000 miles a year and a half ago that now has 62,000 miles. In January I installed a UUC Evo 3 shifter and DSSR that worked great until...A couple of months ago it would occasionally stick in a gear (usually 2nd) requiring a second push to the next gear. Now it is stuck in 1st gear - I can't move the lever no matter if the car is running or not. However, I can start the car and move it normally in 1st gear. Any ideas?

Been underneath to check the linkage?

If one of the circlips gets loose the selector rod could get jammed. Also, pop up the shift boot and check to see if the ball joint looks right.<img src="http://members.roadfly.org/pmiranda/TMCM_anim.gif">

The linkage looks OK. Time for the mechanic.

I checked both circlips and they're good. I also looked at the ball jonit and didn't see anything obvious, but didn't have a chance to disassemble it. Someone on another forum mentioned the lower cartridge bearings. Time to get it to my mechanic. Thanks!
