I'm looking to get E34 M5, any caveats?
I've been driving an E30 for a few years now; it's a good car. I've always wanted an M car, and the E34 M5 seems to fit the bill.
I'm looking for a '91, but any year is suitable. I don't mind having a project car, but are these cars reliable enough to be a daily driver? Any issues I should be aware of while looking for cars to purchase?
It's a few months off, but I'd like to begin researching now...

Re: I'm looking to get E34 M5, any caveats?
Mine has been very reliable so far. I wouldn't drive it to work in constant stop and go traffic but I drive roads where there isn't much of that so it can be a great daily driver in the right setting (although mine has been more of a pleasure vehicle). Here is a prior post by another owner:

No caveats different from buying any used car. A couple of pluses are that most of the time, the owners of these are a little nuts (myself included) so they are we maintained; also there is pleny of documentation via the web generally and specificically..carfax, etc. and finally, the market is so down on these cars that there are bargains galore
