540 Issues ?
Am new to this Forum, thanks in advance for any healpful info. I am considering selling my 03' A4 and jumping back into a 540I. Can anyone tell me what to look for and what are the "typical issues" that crop up? Previous cars were 97' A4 and 98 328I. Loved my Bimmer and have always longed for another one. Feel that the class of the 5 series +V8 + manual tranny= can't miss?

I just did the same (A4 for 540)...
Traded in my 2004 1.8T A4 (6 spd) for a 2003 540 M-Sport 6 spd just two months ago. I love it! My advice -- look for a 2003 M-Sport. It might take you a little while to find one, but it will be well worth the wait. If you're in the midwest, I have a few leads I can recommend.
