    NO HEAT

    I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE HEATER ON MY 1988 BMW M-5 AT IDLE I HAVE HEAT BUT ON THE ROAD I HAVE NO HEAT. AND THE TEMP GAUGE IS IN THE BLUE. i LIVE IN NJ AND IT IS DEC. AVERAGE TEMP 30DEGREES TO 50 DEGRESS. I HAVE TESTED THE THE THERMOSTAT AND IT OPENS AT 180 DEGREES

    Sounds like you need to rebuild your heater control valuve.

    I had this on 2 e28's. I changed my heater valve that is mounted to the firewall by the master brake cylinder. $40.00 part 10 minute fix. I now have almost instant heat all the time.
