    So far so good...

    2004 2.5
    48K
Just had my last free service.
Unfortunately they do Tranny flush and Antifreeze flush after 50K.
Little confused about that one but they did brake fluid change.
Had that same crack thing on the "leatherette" seats and they said they would call me back on that one when a BMW rep comes in. (hmm)
No problems at all so far, other that the back hatch clicking open for a couple days for no reason.(ghost?) Keeping fingers crossed.

Not quite at 48k but at 24k we are

very happy. No major issues and only a few "I wish they would of's". The only thing that would get be to buy a new one would be to have the diesel version available in the U.S. market.

    Agreed..
Not having a "door ajar" indicator is very strange to say the least..

What year is yours? check your owners

manual under instrumentation. It's there no doubt. I have never owned a BMW that didn't have some sort of "door open" indicator.
Start your engine. Close all the doors and then open one of them. You should see a light with a pictorium of a car with doors open come on between the tach and speedo.

    Have an 04 2.5
Never seen the "door ajar" light.
Had the car for 3 years.
Perhaps it never worked and I never saw it??
See the seatbelt not fastened light but never the door thing.
    Anyone else missing the indicator???

I took a snap shot of the 06 X3 manual. Take a look at the lower right indicator light between the tach and speedo. There's the door ajar light.

Yes, I know I dont have one.
How could a BMW not have a door ajar light??
Did they actually screw up and forget it??
Cars made in the 60's have it.
I would think it might be some kind of safey hazard, kids and all.
    Unbelievable.
