Re: latest software update...
Why are u saying that? The bulletin states the opposite - it can be retrofitted from SOP (start of production). Furthermore, there is no sign that as long as the dealer is "competent" that anyone has not been able to get their MP3 working, even to teh point of getting a bad CD drive replaced under warranty just because it would not work with MP3.

Updated today
Software updated today. We were mainly trying to get rid of my annoying rough idle at cold starts. Seems to have worked. Other changes:
1. lawyer screen disappears!
2. reorganized menus esp in info menu
3. is it possible that the idrive knob turns nicer, clicks better?
4. font nicer
5. bluetooth menu better
other minor stuff

Re: V25 is out now
Is there going to be any published release on the "features" that it contains. The SIB, when released< will ususally only mention "fixes". I know in Europe they are stating that we can now do search functions in ProNav and a few other goodies.

Hmmm, probably not as you.........................
....have always seen what I see with the SIB's.
But, some of the new features, different background color, no color in the main menu for the four main choices, only the colored arrows pointing towards them remain, you can search by distance or by name of a restuarant, the screen will now go back to the last one used instead of always deafaulting to the main menu screen. I think the i-pod or MP 3 selections are better now too in the way they are displayed.

Re: Hmmm, probably not as you.........................
What I thought, thanks. I do remember way back on 16.xx that there was a nice "how to" put out by BMW on some of that versions new features. Was not sure that did not happen other times, but suspected not. Probably have to wait for the MY08 manuals to come out to really get real written words out of BMW. But those manuals....dunno

Re: Last Navigation software is V29
E60 (5 series) / E63 (6 series) / E90 (3 series) do not operate with separate software for Navigation. The whole car is under control of PROGMAN (formerly CIP). Each and every component may or may not be upgraded such as engine map (ECU/DME), tranny (EGS), DCS, CCC (entertainment and NAV) and much, much more. The process for the Z4 may be similar or not but certainly not in sync with the 6-series (and indentical 5 series software) we are discussing on this E63 forum. Thanks, but I am sure the E85 forum would love this info, however;)
