BMW 1 Series looks great in the April

2007 Car & Driver. I'll take it over the new 7, 5, or 3 series body styles as a three door hatchback. And C&D says a two door coupe is on the way sometime next year. It'll have direct gasoline injection, regenerative braking, and automatic stop/start at traffic lights. Best guess is a 3.0 liter inline-six making 230 hp with a price targeted at $25K.
Maybe this is our salvation? Three series is getting too bulbous for me.

Now I'm torn. 335i coupe or 128i coupe? If they put the turbo motor in the 1 that will sway me.

If I live until 08, the 135 will be my next car. The E92 335 is OK but the design never really excited me and I hate the E90/E92's interior.
