M42 Supercharger for 318is?
Just wondering if anyone has ANY experience with a roots type or centrifical supercharger (or turbo for that matter) with the 91-92 318is (e30 platform) with the M42 DOHC 1.8 motors?
I know they lack the knock sensor and I haven't delved into the topic enough to find the location of the knock sensor on the 93 and up M42's (e36 platform) to even think about swapping this item on....
I know with a factory 10.8 to 1 (I think) compression ratio this is KEY to putting a roots type blower on an early M42....
I've been out of the scene for a few years playing with Turbo 80's Dodges (don't snicker, www.thedodgegarage.com) due to finances, but I'm back in pay dirt and wanting Kraut engineering.... That and I miss RWD....
Just wanting ANY info I can get on forced induction systems for these motors.... I'm not looking to set the world on fire, I just want a "poor mans" M3 (e30) via 318is with some ooomph!
Thanks in advance everyone!
