I just had to have my X-5 2002 towed to the dealership with no brake fluid. The analysis was the brake lines corroded and I have to pay $600 for the replacement. It's 9 months out of the 4 year warranty. Has anyone experienced this? I have not picked it up yet. I am thinking of calling BMW of america to get advice. I can't believe a nearly 5 year old vehicle with 55K miles has rusted out brake lines to cause brake failure. Big time safety issue! I am stunned.

Please advise.
