FYI: M5 Weight and Balance

FWIW, I had my M5 on the scales today before cross balancing. F/R weight bias roughly of 52/48 as speced and it weighed in at 3320 lbs with half a tank of gas and aftermarket recaro seats.

Sounds pretty good>

Did you ever get those crazy cams installed? Have you dyno'd your M5? I'm curious what it puts out.

Kimball's opened last weekend. Mmmmmmmmm ice cream... Maybe we can get the crew together again once the warm weather and Cruise Night rolls around.

Hey Bob!

Unfortunately I didn't get around to doing the cams last year but its on my list for this summer, especially since I'm due for a vlave adjustment. Plus, my friend with and e39 M5 has started going to HPDE's with me and I have to admit I'm feeling some serious horsepower inferiority :)

Would love to do another Kimballs meet and get my M5 out there with the rest of the e28's! There is someone running around my Cambridge with an e28 M5 sporting pinstripes but otherwise pretty stock. Does that car sound familiar?

Nope, doesn't sound familiar>

I don't know who that could be. I also know of one nice daily driver that I used to see parked in Concord center on my old commute home, and there is a very used one that I occasionally see reverse commuting home out by me in Groton.

Say Hi to Mario for me if you take your car up there. I have my fingers crossed that I will be selling and buying a house this week. Once that is done, the search for a new toy will begin.

Good luck!

Hope your house deals are working out well! I remember when I bought my house... in fact, I almost wish I could forget it because it was perhaps the most stressful thing I've ever experienced in my entire life.
The M5's are working themselves out of the woodwork everywhere. I saw a nice one in back bay last weekend in the middle of a euro bumper conversion. The rear had a euro bumper while the front was had the front US spoiler but was missing the big US bumper...

Meanwhile, painters got white paint drops all over my car from painting the house... and I have to admit, I love driving the car too much to get riled up about the little things.

New toy search sounds good. I'm having a hankering to try out a vette because I figure someday we're all going to be driving little electric toys so I might as well experience big hp while the american automakers are still making cars like this.....
