does suspension have to loaded to replace links?

I'm going to be replacing stabilizer bar links this week, do I need to borrow ramps? Seems to be a debate on correct procedure.

I don't think it matters, just so long as you can reach the fasteners. The important thing is to have the side-to-side heights balanced so the holes line up. You may have to lift one side to get them to fit.
