    idle seems low

The idle seems low and occasionally stalls (warm or cold)on my 85 535i. Any suggestions. I'm new to roadfly and to the BMW world so please speak in laymans terms. Thank you.

    Re: idle seems low

I would see if there is any difference when you pull the oil dipstick in the idle. The system is set up to have about 15 lbs of vacuum, and when the dipstick is pulled, it looses the vacuum pressure. If you don't see much of a change, I would assume you have a leak. Check the black rubber corregated section just to the left of the intake manifold(aluminum pipe looking area near the driver side on top). I had some cracks in mine, and sealed them with a black silicone adhesive.

How many miles, what is the latest plugs/wires/cap and rotor tune-up?
