    Re: 1992 e34 M5 Any thoughts, experiences?

    I've had a 91 for 17 years.
    The M5 is raw performance.
The engine has a lope at idle and the exhaust rumbles in stock trim.
At 3.6 Liters it is a horse-power motor and the RPM sound so sweet!!

I have a few performance upgrades: Euro M5 Big Brakes, Suspension.
Comfort upgrades: sun shades, E31 memory steering column w/3-spoke airbag steering wheel. Will be adding seats/mirror memory setup.

You will want one that is single owner and well maintained.
As with any BMW, the repairs on a poorly maintained car will cost you big time.
The ///M engines are expensive to repair.

    After that their a blast.Rod...

    Thanks Rod and Laszlo

I am looking at one in Japan. One-owner, dealer serviced, less than 40k kms on the clock. This may sound like a silly question but is there room for 2 full sized adults in the back? Believe it or not I am adding the sedan because my parents are getting on. If I am going to have 4 Doors, I am going to have some fun. Do you know who can check on a VIN for me?

    Thanks,

    Terry in T.O.

Room for a comfortable 2 1/2 in the back. Two are

just fine for a longer drive.

    VIN Check Please?

    The VIN is WBSHD91000BK04692
I would be grateful if someone would be kind enough to run this VIN and get some build details on this car.

    Thanks,

    Terry in T.O.

There are a couple of other useful sources of

info about these cars. Check out "bmwe34m5 at wahoo" and "m5board dottle common".

I believe Peter on this forum just got a 30 day carfax and offered to share it; check the last couple weeks posts, maybe send him an email.

The m5 Touring (Wagon) is very rare

and would be quite the find! If i come across one I will let you know.

    Deal is Done!

I now have an e34M5 to go with my 8!

1992 Euro E34 M5 blue exterior, vanilla leather interior (not sure of the official name for the colours pending VIN check. 30K km! BMW Serviced. All paperwork in order. 17" throwing stars. Outstanding near new condition inside and out.
I have been looking for one of these in this condition for a long time.
Arriving from Japan in Mid-June. Might just be one of the best examples in North America when it arrives.
