    DOT 4 Low Viscosity?

Time to bleed the brakes for my 2001 540i (6 speed). Bently calls for DOT 4 Low Viscosity brake fluid (due apparently to DSC without pump). What is this and where to find it? Auto parts store did not have. What do folks use for this?

    Thanks.

I asked the dealer about this

They said they just use plain DOT 4 fluid. I have been using Valvoline Dot 3/4 fluid for years in 2 different BMWs and have had 0 braking issues.

Re: I asked the dealer about this

Why are some US dealers ignoring what BMW and the brake makers say ?
They clearly don't understand how modern ABS/ASC etc.systems work.
