    8-series owners question

    If you were given a choice of a Aston Martin DB9 and a V8 Vantage as a supplement to your 8...which would you choose and why?

    Will go with the DB9 to be honest for two reasons.

    Look and performance, but I am primarly a first look kind of guy. The car looks mean, agressive with very clean lines. Reminds me some of the italian clasic lines but yet very modern... But that's just me... But I am sure for some price can be a factor as well....

    For me the V8. I have looked at both and my wife love the V8. Same basic look of Aston but more usable trunk (boot). I haven't seen one for less than $100k-$110K. I'm waiting for them to drop to about $80k.
    Conclusion is either would be fantastic!
    While we are on the subject what do you think of the MB SLK 55 AMG. I'm seeing them in the high $40k with very low miles.

    My opinion....Nope

    My wife is a brunette...I love brunettes and will do a double take on most every brunette that crosses my path. A beautiful red head could be walking with a rather "plain Jane" brunette and I would notice the brunette first. I think of Mercedes as the red head - nothing immediately excites me about the car over other cars that have already captured my attention. The lines are wonderful on the SLK 55 AMG, price is right, it matches my driving wants and needs, but it is a car that does not excite me.

    The DB9 price has come down but the Vantage price has not and may not for some time. Looks are similar between the two, but the feel of the drive is very different. Thinking I don't want to replace the 8...just supplement it. The struggle is V8 or V12, more sport or more comfort, and which is a better fit for life right now. All while still having the same love affair/passion with an Aston as I do with the 8...such as looking back on it each time I park it, and being obsessive at looking for excuses to drive it.

    DB9=4 seat vantage=2

    but the latter is more handsome but only by a bit. the Vanquish is my all time favorite but way too expensive.
    The new CL550 and CL600 are awesome. They are already on the market in europe, I think they are one of the prettiest cars on the world. incl all astons and bmw's too ! have yet to see more elegant 2 door coupe... check out the German or UK websites... worth to take a mortgage on the house to get one of that.
    a customer of mine just took delivery of a CL600TT 720HP ! He bought a set of 24" wheels a week ago (Lowenhart) for the car !
    only paid a small amount of 7200usd for a wheels... no he is not in the maffia, he has a metal recycling factory in Hungary. He has been doing this for 25 years and have goverment contracts. he has a MB SL550 and a Z06 corvette as well as a '67 Camaro COnvertible with a 1000HP big block engine.
    I wish I could have a month of his paycheck once a year... I could live on that for a year probably !

    Not considering price;

    DB9 is sleeker, sexier, more elegant and, more practicle. A better looking car. But for me It´s the AMV8. Musclular simple elegant by it´s heritage and less visual distractions. both are similar cars, both are drop dead lookers, but for those who know they make very different statements.

    DB9 say´s I´m what the new BMW GT should have been.

    The AMV says I´m a mustang on steroids with an expensive leather jacket.

    I´m more like the later.
