    illuminated shift knob

My OEM lighted shift knob popped off while doing a hard shift from 1st to 2nd this weekend. I the force was so strong I disconnected the butt connectors tapped into courtesy light dimmer. I snapped it back on but seems to come off easily now. I don't want to replace it since the light still works and of course don't want to glue it on either. Any ideas how to tell if the knob's attachment "thingy" is still good or a fix? Thanks

    Re: illuminated shift knob

I've just sqeezed some silicon into the shift knob and mushed it back on until dry. It'll stay on as long as you want it and it's pretty simple to remove again if you ever want to.

    Re: glue know

Thanks, I actually did that on my 325 awhile back and it did stay put until I aggressively shifted one day getting on the freeway and it popped right off again! It's amazing how much power my skinny little arms can excert when I'm driving aggressively.
