Wokke chip fitted, how about a Superchargher?
Wokke chip offered a pleasing result, and took about an hour (getting to the chip is quite tricky)
now im thinking more, see the guy who I bought my 840ci off had another 840ci (the later 4.4 model) with complete hartge tuning (all the options) and a vortec supercharger, he said the supercharging alone cost £13,000! and he claimed to be pushing around 415bh
now at a breakers yard a vortec supercharged 540 has just rolled in and my mind exploded with the idea.. but again this is the later 4.4 type.. now my 840 is from '95 (build date says '94 December) and it has the 4.0 engine.. will this supercharger be compatible ? enclosed is a photo of the actual e39 that rolled in.
they dont watch much for it, and i know labour will be roughly 10 hours but 400+ brake ? yes ! please anyone let me know what u think.
thanks

ESS makes a really good kits. the install is not as easy as a chip install but worth it. HP is actually about 425 with a manual and 405 with an auto tranny.
840 needs a little fabrication but could work just fine. However your Wokke chip most likely be be up for sale then as the supercharged engine needs different mapping for full power gain. that is the only thing that will not work for you from the 4.4 engine, the chip, electronics. You need one for the OBDI system and a slightly different mapping then normally aspirated engines but you could try the wokke chip too. You may not get all the power but 90% of it. also I recommend a new higher flow injectors too, so if you can ask the junk yard to get the injectors out as well. also might as well take the computer chip in case you want to sell a kit it would be a perfect full kit.
