carbon build up issue need updated info......

my 2002 with 65k miles has recently been diagnosed with carbon build up. Dealer saying not covered via extended warranty and estimating $11k to repair stating bmwna attributes this to bad gasoline. Vehicle is running flawlessly. Love the car. Any suggestions? Do i dump the car and take a loss or just drive the hell out of it as is?

    Thanks,

    Chas.

    Check this Out!

Most Carbon build up was from early years. What type gas are you using? Also how do you run the car? Rev's ? Go to M5board.com plug in under search Carbon Build up. The M5 board has more info than this. Nobody much loks here! Regards, gene

I got the chip upgrade from Powerchip in CA. It cleared up the check engine light. Ask for Travis, he was very helpful. Mention the message board for a $100 discount. I think it was $995 pre discount.

    Good luck
