it will be an economical crap. much like the x6

which looks like a crap on wheels. saw one a few weeks ago. big wheels and all the factory blackout stuff, i hate to say but MB is lightyears ahead of BMW in design. Any of their product is better then the best of bangle and his gang.

i like diesels but the car looks nothing like the

concept. diesels are good and should be more popular here in the US too. MUCH better then the Hybrid which is a silly way of saving fuel.

Reports of BMW diesels is "thumbs up"

I've seen a couple of short articles about the BMW diesel engines that are running in Europe. From what I've read, the general consensus is that BMW has produced a diesel engine that is smooth, powerful, quiet, and meets or surpasses all expectations of a comparable gasoline engine. The exhaust system has a "soot scrubber" in the muffler that produces a cleaner exhaust than conventional diesels. The scubber works by employing a self-cleaning particulate filter. The december edition of "Bimmer" has an article about the diesels, as well as a nice photo spread of several 8's.

6 Cylinders only. the 4 cyl diesel is still a bit

rough but thats the one that gives you 40mpg and 130mph in a 3 or 5 series.
The 4 cyl diesel 320d is such a great car, except the diesel chatter specially at cold temp.
The 330d is great and less noise but the fuel econ isn't that super compare to the 320d. it still outperforms the 330i but the 6 cyl isn't that much better then the V8 diesel which is a train engine - has so much torque it pulls like a train. better noises and almost as good fuel econ as the 6 cylinder diesel !

a good way to reduce noise...

...run a veg oil mix. better lubricity, cleaner system.

rudolf diesel's engine was designed to run on peanut oil.
