    Santa Came Early this year!

    Hello everyone,

Well Santa came early this year and after almost 15 years, I finally got some new wheels! Got them on closeout from a wholesaler in Hawaii. They are WEDS Bavaria III 2 piece wheels. They are specifically for E28 M5s and they're going on tomorrow. These were the last set. Tire Rack has a deal too but wrong offset for our cars. So now I have toget rid of my staggered 17" Throwing Stars. They have almost new 225/45 & 235/45's Sumitomos HRTZ, offsets are 10MM front and 26mm rear. If you remember from earlier post I had the rears custom machined for better fit. They were original 19mm. YOu can mount 265/40's w/ no clearance problems. I will make a detailed ad in for sale section soon but wanted to give you first dibs. Email me if interested and make an offer.

    New wheels are 18x8.5 15mm & 18x9.5 26mm / 235/40 & 245/40's. No rubbing issues at all.

That last pic makes my car look ugly... I can't afford the bumpers or the wheels though...

    Re: sorry Randomg

Hey man, I know what it's like. I took me a long time to save up for the bumpers. Old TS wheels were a lucky buy from Ken Griffy Jr. who had them on his 850 CSI years ago. He didn't need the $$$ so they were really cheap. Not having a wife and kids helps a little with new wheels. Good luck.

Nice! Sure wish mine looked like that...

... mine needs major work inside and out (but it does still run nice and is always great fun to drive ;-)

Your car gives me a goal to shoot for, thanks for sharing.

    I'm guessing NO ...

... cause I DO have heirs and their mother would kill me if I was to start working on my car like I want to lol

Thanks Bob! Yes I will be willing my M5 to my 12 year old nephew. He has learned to appreciate the car and has helped me detail the car many times. All his friends know the car will be his someday!

Wow! Those look fantastic! I've never seen that style of wheel before and would buy those in a heartbeat!

Not change the subject, but were the Euro bumpers hard to find?

    Bumpers

Thanks for the compliment. My bumpers are a kit from AC Schnitzer which I purchased in Germany in 1999. The kit was discontinued many years ago. However BMP in Texas sells a fiberglass replica of the kit for half the price. My kit is made with plastic reinforced fiberglass and came with all mounting hardware.
